Wix Setup

Wix now uses a sitemap-polling integration. This guide explains what is live in the runtime today and what still stays intentionally deferred.

Current status: Crawlbaby polls the saved Wix sitemap sources, seeds current sitemap state on the first successful poll, and enqueues downstream work only for new URLs or changed sitemap lastmod values after that baseline.

Live v1 Integration Model

  • Crawlbaby uses sitemap polling for Wix instead of a Wix-only alert system.
  • Wix documents that sitemap entries include lastmod as the date the page was last updated.
  • Wix also documents that the sitemap updates automatically when the site changes.
  • The first successful poll seeds the current sitemap state instead of backfilling every URL immediately.
  • Later new URLs or changed sitemap lastmod values feed the existing page-change intake path without re-enqueueing unchanged entries.
  • Capture timing still follows the site’s current change-processing mode, so Wix can reuse the existing immediate or end-of-day batch downstream flow.

What To Do Now

  1. Keep the site platform set to Wix in Website Integration.
  2. Confirm the sitemap URL saved for this site. Most Wix sites expose /sitemap.xml.
  3. Finish the normal onboarding baseline so Crawlbaby has an initial snapshot to compare against after later sitemap changes.
  4. Check the Website Integration card for the last successful poll time and the latest poll summary.

Still Deferred

Wix still does not use a dedicated app install or a separate alerting path for this flow. The site-header live-heartbeat badge also remains reserved for recent live connector or webhook activity, so periodic sitemap polling currently surfaces its status inside Website Integration instead of reusing that header signal.
